Hi Bill, Firstly…I apologize for not participating in your week of sharing, it was indeed a busy week for me. I have read all the post and learned a few things. I’m lucky to have a son who has worked in high security computers for decades, so I am pretty well up on most things [...]

Hi Bill I am wondering if you missed seeing my question? Re my audio file . It is a bit large for some mailboxes at 14MB . Is there a way to send it in a smaller format like a zip file? Thanks

Thanks Bill, I was able to do it with Windows Media Player. However the file is 14MB and when I sent it out many were returned because it was too big for their mailbox space. Is there a way to make it any smaller….like a zip file?

For MaryAnne: Do you know how to use Windows Media Player? That program has a function in it to “rip” music (or any audio file) from a regular music CD. You need the newer versions of Media Player to do that, but it’s downloadable for free from Microsoft if you don’t have it. You can [...]

Hi Bill I tried what you suggested. It made a shortcut only on the desktop. I tried attaching using the shortcut to open the file with all the tracks . I selected track 2 and it attached as a CDA . I sent an email to myself. It then opened up my itunes but I [...]

Thanks, Bill. What I’m thinking of are line drawings – black and white illustrations. I guess they would be relatively easy to copy, no matter what.

Hi Jo; Well, there are some things you can do on a website that will prevent images from being copies… I’ve created a site for an artist friend that wanted that same protection – there were tools and add-ons available that will dis-allow right-clicking on an image on a website. Having said that, there’s still [...]

For Abby: I can’t argue with anything you suggested… I would add my own favorite for cleaning up a system that might be spyware infected (or you may suspect trouble)… and that program is “Malwarebytes.” It’s a freebie… available on download sites such as http://www.FileHippo.com and others. For my money, it does a much better [...]

For MaryAnne: I’m assuming we’re talking about an audio recording, yes? The tracks on an audio CD are just like any other computer file… you can copy them off the original source (in your case, the CD) and move them to your PC. From there, you can “attach” them to any e-mail message you’d like [...]

Hi Karen; You can’t really “copy-and-paste” stuff between Outlook, but Microsoft does make it easy with the Import / Export functions within Outlook itself. Try this: From within Outlook, click on FILE, then IMPORT / EXPORT. On the next box, click Export to a File, then choose the “Personal Folder File / .pst File” option. [...]

I have a question.
This month the company training CD features an interview with me.
I would like to be able to send people my interview by email.
I have downloaded the CD to itunes library.
How do I select my track and attach it to an email to send to others?
Thanks -

Hey Jo! I’m sure Bill will have some further ideas/suggestions, but in my experience there just isn’t much you can do. Make sure the graphic is the lowest web-ready resolution you can, so that the photo cannot be used for any print purposes. You can put light transparent copyright images/text across the image, but that [...]

Karen In My Documents you create New Folders and name them. Then move relevant files in to the Folders. For instance Have a folder for Ebills, another folder for My Pictures, another for etc etc. You get the idea. When something new comes in save it in the files and it is easier to find.
