It’s light, but it’s also worth a fortune – close to a million, they tell me. Miss USA wears it the night of the pageant, then at events during her homecoming weekend (which was the event I attended), and then it goes back in the vault till next year’s pageant, and she wears a tiara for the rest of her reign.

Roxanne, I was the only person at the event (besides Rima) who was allowed to wear the crown.
It’s a long story that I will tell another time, but in October she shared her Miss Michigan crown with me, and last week, when this photo was taken, she promised that when she wins Miss Universe in August, I get to wear that one, too!
She is an amazing young woman and I am so very grateful for her friendship.
The Miss Universe videographer shot footage of Rima telling our story; it is supposed to be on the official website sometime soon – I will let you know.
Meanwhile – I was surprised how light it is! Hardly notice it on your head.

You got to wear the crown!!! WOW! How does that make a person feel huh! (now I want a tiara! LOL)
